Jaguar F-Pace X761 Retrofits & Activations Brisbane

You chose an F-Pace when everyone else chose the obvious thing, and the judges agreed with you: World Car of the Year and World Car Design of the Year in the same season. So it deserves better than a phone on a cradle, cruise control that still needs your right foot on the M1, and a cabin one activation short of the showroom.

The good news costs less than you expect, because your 2016-on X761 sits in one of three software eras, and that one fact decides your CarPlay door, your cruise control path and most of the menu below. Send your VIN or rego, free, and within two minutes you will know exactly which F-Pace you own, what it already carries, and what it can genuinely take, from $350 upward.

Every job at our Capalaba workshop is performed by a factory-trained JLR master technician with genuine parts and factory coding, so your Jaguar also leaves under a 12-month workmanship guarantee.

The Three Jobs F-Pace Owners Book Most

1. Your phone, finally on the widescreen. This is the platform’s number one enquiry, and you can see why: you bought a Jaguar, yet your maps still live on a suction cup. CarPlay and Android Auto from $580 puts navigation, music and calls on the factory InControl Touch Pro screen of 2016 to 2020 builds, activated while you wait and wireless where your hardware supports it. Own a 2021-on PIVI Pro facelift? Then check your home screen first, because you very likely have it already, and nobody should charge you for it, including us.

2. The M1 stops being a right-foot workout. Adaptive cruise control at $580 on your VIN lets your F-Pace hold its gap in Bruce Highway traffic while you hold the wheel and your patience. Higher trims carry the radar and simply need the activation, while other builds have a hardware path we confirm on your VIN before a dollar changes hands. Either way, the Gold Coast run gets shorter without getting faster.

3. The character you paid for, switched on. Dynamic Mode at $580 sharpens throttle, steering and gearbox where the hardware is fitted, ambient lighting at $350 gives your cabin the glow the higher spec carried, and the Activity Key at $1,150 finishes the beach-and-gym story on the few F-Paces that missed it. That last one deserves a check first, though, because your Jaguar was the car that invented it.

Every Upgrade Your Jaguar F-Pace Can Take

Seventeen jobs, each priced against the build years that can actually take it, because a 2016 InControl Touch F-Pace, a 2019 Touch Pro F-Pace and a 2022 PIVI F-Pace answer differently on half this table. Every row links to its full page, and every price is confirmed exact on your free VIN check before you commit to anything. So treat this as your Jaguar F-Pace upgrades menu for Brisbane, then let the VIN check cross off whatever you already own.

Already on Your F-Pace, So Nobody Sells It Twice

Half the value of your VIN check is the jobs it crosses off. Your F-Pace was the first car in the world to launch the Activity Key, so a large share of X761s already own the wristband someone might try to sell you. Most 2021-on facelift builds carry CarPlay from the factory, while higher trims left Coventry with adaptive cruise, the camera suite and ambient lighting already fitted. Either way, you hear all of it before you spend a dollar confirming what you already own.

What We Will Not Sell Your F-Pace

You deserve the no list as much as the yes list, so here it is plainly. First, we do no work of any kind on the SVR, because the supercharged V8 sits outside the factory-approved paths this whole page is built on. Second, the early 8-inch InControl Touch head unit cannot honestly be given CarPlay by activation, so you get a straight answer and the one genuine path instead: the PIVI Pro screen upgrade, quoted on your VIN, or keeping the cabin as it is. Nor do we fit anything aftermarket at any price. A workshop that promises an F-Pace everything has not read the F-Pace, which is exactly why the free VIN check exists: so yours gets read properly.

Which F-Pace Do You Own?

One question decides most of your menu, so answer it first. Your F-Pace sits in one of three eras, and the bar below shows how much of the X761 story each one covers.

2016 to 2017
2018 to 2020
2021 to today
InControl Touch era
8-inch screen, CarPlay not an activation
So the honest path is the PIVI Pro screen upgrade quoted on VIN, while ACC, Dynamic Mode and the Activity Key are checked as normal.
InControl Touch Pro era
10-inch widescreen, CarPlay usually missing
So your headline job is the $580 activation, then adaptive cruise and cameras follow for the price of a service.
PIVI Pro era
CarPlay usually fitted, features often asleep
So your money moves to adaptive cruise, ClearSight where it is missing, and coding, especially on 2021 to 2023 shortage-era builds that left the factory with hardware switched off.
BuildWhat It Means for You
F-Pace 2016-2017 (InControl Touch, 8-inch)Some early builds carry the optional 10-inch Touch Pro, so your screen size settles it. On the 8-inch unit, CarPlay is a screen upgrade question rather than an activation.
F-Pace 2018-2020 (InControl Touch Pro)The classic activation candidate. CarPlay from $580 leads, adaptive cruise on your VIN follows, and your engines are mapped per engine.
F-Pace 2021-on (PIVI Pro facelift)CarPlay usually factory-fitted, so the money moves to ACC, ClearSight, D300 to D350 at $950 and Matrix lighting. Shortage-era builds often carry hardware waiting on an activation.
Range Rover Velar L560Built on the same architecture with a different badge and its own answers. Its honest menu lives on our Range Rover Velar page.
Jaguar E-Pace and I-PaceEach gets its own page in this silo, because their software stories differ from yours.
Jaguar XE and XFThe same Touch Pro story in a sedan body, with pages coming and a VIN check that reads them today.

Cannot place your build in the table? Then do not guess with your money. Dealer-level diagnostics from $350 reads the whole car, while the free VIN check answers the generation question in two minutes, and one photo of your screen usually settles it on the spot.

Bought as the Driver’s SUV, Kept as One

You did not buy an F-Pace for the school run alone. You bought the SUV that steers like the sports car Jaguar built next to it, and nine years on the design and the chassis still do their job. Your software, however, is where ownership can get better every single week.

Think about what you actually get back. Adaptive cruise hands you the Gold Coast run with your foot resting and your gap held, while CarPlay hands you your podcasts and your directions without touching your phone. Dynamic Mode hands you the Jaguar that shows up on the Mount Glorious road, and ambient lighting hands you the cabin the configurator promised. The Activity Key hands you a locked car and a free swim, too. And if your build carries base audio, the Meridian upgrade turns the daily loop into the best seat you own.

None of it changes what your car is. Instead, all of it finishes what your Jaguar was designed to be, for a fraction of what the badge cost you, and most of it is done the same day you drop in.

Your Five-Point Checklist Before You Book

  • Measure your screen first. The 8-inch and 10-inch screens answer the CarPlay question completely differently, so it is the first thing you check and the first thing we ask.
  • Check your home screen before paying for CarPlay. Facelift builds usually have it already, so you will hear that from us for free.
  • Look for the wristband before anyone quotes an Activity Key. Your F-Pace launched the feature, so check the glovebox first, because yours may be sitting in a drawer.
  • Confirm your vehicle is unmodified and is not an SVR. Every job here drives genuine capability through factory modules, so a factory baseline protects your result as well as your coding preferences down the track.
  • Bundle the highway kit. CarPlay, adaptive cruise and Stop/Start memory in one visit is the classic F-Pace booking, while one VIN check prices your entire menu above.

Why F-Pace Owners Choose SemCar Capalaba

First Jaguar or fifth, you get the same standard, because your F-Pace is read by a factory-trained Jaguar Land Rover master technician at our dedicated JLR workshop in Capalaba, with genuine parts, dealership-level coding equipment and the platform knowledge that comes from working the X761 across all three of its eras. Australia’s Motor Vehicle Information Scheme gives specialist independent workshops access to manufacturer service information, and it is used on every Jaguar that comes through the door. So every activation leaves under our 12-month workmanship guarantee, too. The same access covers routine work, which is why owners book their Jaguar service in Brisbane with us as well.

The standing promise you can hold us to: whatever your build cannot support, already carries, or was never offered, you hear plainly at the free VIN check, so you pay nothing to find out.

Questions You Must Ask Before Booking

Does my Jaguar F-Pace have Apple CarPlay?

Your screen answers it. Most 2016 to 2020 InControl Touch Pro builds shipped without it, so yours takes a genuine activation from $580 on the factory widescreen, done while you wait. Most 2021-on PIVI Pro builds carry it from the factory, though, so you may already own what you were about to buy. Early 8-inch InControl Touch builds are a screen upgrade question instead. Either way, the free VIN check places your exact car in two minutes, before you spend anything.

How much is CarPlay for an F-Pace in Brisbane?

From $580 as a genuine software activation on your InControl Touch Pro screen at Capalaba. No aftermarket head unit hanging off your dash, no cut looms devaluing your Jaguar, and wireless where your hardware supports it. Because it is the factory feature switched on, it also survives dealer software updates.

Can I add adaptive cruise control to my F-Pace?

On 2017-on builds, usually yes, at $580 on your VIN. Higher trims already carry the radar and simply need the activation, while other builds have a genuine hardware path we confirm before quoting. The one honest boundary is that the path is read from your VIN rather than promised from your model year, so you never pay for a retrofit your car cannot take.

Does my F-Pace already have the Activity Key?

Quite possibly, because your F-Pace was the car that launched it in 2016. Check the glovebox, the handover kit and the previous owner’s paperwork before anyone quotes you one. Where yours genuinely never had it, compatible builds take the wearable key at $1,150, confirmed on your VIN.

What power upgrades suit my F-Pace, and do you tune the SVR?

The honest answer first: we do no work on the SVR, because the supercharged V8 sits outside factory-approved paths. For every other F-Pace, your genuine doors are the petrol power paths from $1,250 on P250 and P300 builds, six-cylinder petrols to P400 from $1,800, the 2021-on D300 to D350 calibration at $950, and the earlier diesels mapped per engine through our factory power upgrades. Nothing aftermarket touches your car at any price, so where the factory answer is no, you hear it plainly and keep your money.

Will any of this void my warranty?

Under Australian Consumer Law, a manufacturer cannot void your entire warranty simply because a third party has worked on your vehicle. What matters instead is whether the work caused a fault. Plenty of facelift F-Paces are still inside factory warranty, so yours keeps it for unrelated faults, while every job on this page also leaves under our own 12-month workmanship guarantee with genuine parts and factory procedures throughout.

Is the F-Pace the same as the Range Rover Velar underneath?

They share the same architecture with different bodies, cabins and software choices, so some answers carry across and plenty do not. Your F-Pace runs a single widescreen where the Velar runs two, which is exactly why the screen upgrade path exists for you and not for the Velar. The VIN check reads either badge honestly.

Do you offer a courtesy car while my F-Pace is in the workshop?

Yes, a free courtesy car is available by advance reservation, subject to availability, for longer bookings at Capalaba. Reserve it when you book, though your same-day activations are usually quicker than the coffee run next door.
