Activation or Retrofit? The Difference Matters
An activation is a software unlock. Your vehicle already has the hardware fitted, and the feature simply was never enabled at the factory. We connect dealership-level diagnostic equipment, enable the feature, and you drive away with it working. Most activations are completed within one to two hours.
A retrofit is a hardware addition. The component your vehicle needs was never fitted, so we order the genuine Jaguar Land Rover part, install it, and then code the vehicle so the new hardware works exactly as it would have from the factory. Genuine parts typically arrive within one to two weeks, and fitting takes one to two days depending on the job.

Between 2021 and 2023, the global semiconductor shortage forced Jaguar Land Rover to strip features from vehicles on the production line. JLR Australia confirmed at the time that specification items would be limited on local deliveries to keep vehicles moving. Honest Answers to the Hard Questions
Will this void my new-car warranty?
Under Australian Consumer Law, a manufacturer cannot void your entire warranty simply because a third party has worked on your vehicle. What matters is whether the work caused a fault. Everything we apply is a factory configuration using genuine parts, fitted within manufacturer specifications, which is the strongest position you can be in. What we will not do is promise you that no dealer will ever raise an eyebrow, because that promise is not ours to make. What we can tell you is that our work is done to factory standard and documented, and we stand behind it with our own 12-month guarantee.
Can a dealer tell the work has been done?
We will not pretend otherwise: yes, work of this nature can be identified by a dealer with the right equipment. Anyone who tells you their coding is completely invisible is telling you what you want to hear. We keep our work within factory specifications precisely so that what a dealer finds is a configuration JLR itself uses.
Will a software update remove my activation?
Sometimes, yes. Jaguar Land Rover pushes over-the-air updates, and occasionally an update overwrites an activated feature. When that happens, bring the vehicle back and we re-apply the activation. It is rare, it is a known part of how this service works, and we would rather you hear it from us upfront than discover it later.
How long does the work take?
Activations are usually completed within one to two hours. Retrofits require genuine parts, which typically arrive within one to two weeks, and fitting takes one to two days. Our typical booking lead time is within two weeks, depending on workshop availability.

Is there anything you will not do?
Yes. We do not work on grey imports or previously modified vehicles, we do not fit customer-supplied parts, and we do not offer power upgrades for SVR models, V8 supercharged engines, or any vehicle without a factory-approved upgrade path. If a job cannot be done properly, we will tell you so.
