Range Rover Vogue L405 Retrofits & Upgrades Brisbane

Nobody trades a Vogue quickly. The L405 is the Range Rover people keep, which is exactly why a 2015 build with 2015 electronics deserves better than living a decade behind its own cabin. Nine model years, two infotainment eras, engines from the TDV6 to the late mild-hybrid D350, and a menu that runs from a $350 activation to the full cabin refresh.

This page maps what your year supports, what it already carries, and what we will honestly tell you it cannot take. 2013 to 2021 L405, standard and long wheelbase, every trim to SVAutobiography, all of it confirmed free on a VIN check.

At our Capalaba workshop, every job is performed by a factory-trained JLR master technician with genuine parts and factory coding, backed by our 12-month workmanship guarantee.

The Three Jobs Vogue Owners Book Most

1. Apple CarPlay & Android Auto. The most-booked job on the platform: CarPlay and Android Auto from $580 on InControl Touch Pro builds, genuine activation on your factory screen, done while you wait. Earlier builds reach it through the screen upgrade below, and the generation map on this page tells you exactly which door is yours.

2. The cabin refresh. For early builds, the PIVI Pro 11.4-inch touchscreen upgrade from $5,750 brings the current flagship’s interface into the flagship you already own, CarPlay included. Its natural partner from our retrofits and conversions catalogue: the factory centre console fridge from $2,900, the option most Vogue owners wish they had ticked in the first place.

3. Late-build power. 2020 and 2021 builds running the Ingenium D300 take the D300 to D350 factory calibration at $950, petrol power upgrades from $1,250 cover eligible late builds, and the earlier TDV6, SDV6 and SDV8 engines are assessed honestly on VIN through our factory power upgrades range.

Already on Your Vogue, So Nobody Sells It Twice

The 12.3-inch digital driver display has been standard since launch in 2013, a decade before most rivals, so our display retrofit page serves other platforms, not yours. Meridian audio is on most builds, which makes the upgrade path the Signature system, not the base one. And surround camera hardware rides on many higher trims, which is why we read the VIN before anyone quotes a retrofit.

The One Upgrade We Will Not Sell You

One more thing this platform cannot take, stated plainly because nobody else will: the ClearSight camera mirror was never factory-offered for the L405. We do not fit it, and any workshop quoting one for your Vogue is guessing with your money. That is the standard this page holds: what your build supports, what it already has, and what it cannot take, all confirmed free before a dollar changes hands.

Which Vogue Years This Covers, and Which Door Is Yours

BuildYour door
L405 (2013 to 2016)Early InControl era: CarPlay arrives via the screen upgrade path, retrofit menu fully open, prime Matrix LED conversion candidates
L405 (2017 to 2019)InControl Touch Pro era: the CarPlay activation sweet spot from $580, the VIN confirms the screen generation
L405 (2020 to 2021)Ingenium D300 and D350 mild-hybrid builds add the $950 power path, the latest electronics, and activations outnumber retrofits

Earlier Range Rovers are covered from 2005 through our diagnostics door. And if you cannot place your build in the table, do not guess: the VIN answers it in two minutes, free, and one photo of your dash usually settles the screen era on the spot.

Keeping the Flagship: The Honest Maths Against a Changeover

Here is the money conversation nobody in this industry puts in writing. The full keep-it package on a mid-years Vogue, CarPlay or the screen upgrade, the fridge, a camera and the small activations, lands between roughly $1,000 and $10,000 depending on how far you go. The changeover to a new L460 starts north of $150,000 before options, and the L405 you would trade away is the most mechanically proven Range Rover of its era.

We sell the retrofits, so read our bias plainly, and then read the maths anyway: for one to seven percent of a changeover, the Vogue you already trust drives like this decade. And when a changeover genuinely is the right answer for you, we say that too, which is why our Range Rover L460 page tells you honestly what the new one actually carries, including everything you would be paying for twice.

Your Five-Point Checklist Before You Book

1. Know your model year before anything. On this platform it decides your CarPlay door and half the menu.

2. Check your screen era. The Touch Pro layout and the earlier screens look different at a glance; one photo of your dash settles it if the VIN is not handy.

3. Late-build owners: check your engine code. D300 on the build plate means the $950 factory D350 path is on your menu.

4. Confirm your vehicle is unmodified. Factory baselines only, since every job here drives genuine capability through factory modules.

5. Bundle the refresh. CarPlay, the fridge and ambient lighting in one visit is the classic Vogue booking, and one VIN check prices the entire menu above.

Why Vogue Owners Trust SemCar

The owners who hold the flagship longest deserve the workshop that treats it as current, and that is the whole philosophy of this page. Every job is performed by a factory-trained Jaguar Land Rover master technician at our dedicated JLR workshop in Capalaba, with genuine parts, dealership-level coding equipment, and the generation knowledge that only comes from working across all nine model years of one platform. Australia’s Motor Vehicle Information Scheme gives specialist independent workshops access to manufacturer service information, and we use it on every L405 that comes through the door. The same access covers routine work, which is why owners book their Range Rover servicing in Brisbane with us as well.

The standing promise holds across every generation: whatever your build cannot support, already carries, or was never offered, you hear plainly at the free VIN check, and you pay nothing to find out.

Questions You Must Ask Before Booking

Can my Range Rover Vogue get CarPlay, and what will it cost for my year?

Every L405 has a path, and your model year decides which. 2017 to 2019: the sweet spot, a genuine $580 activation on the screen you already own. 2013 to 2016: your screen predates the activation architecture, so CarPlay arrives through the PIVI Pro screen upgrade from $5,750, which modernises the whole cabin with it. 2020 to 2021: usually the activation, occasionally factory-fitted on the latest builds, so check before paying anyone. The free VIN check places your build in two minutes.

Will any of this void my warranty?

Under Australian Consumer Law, a manufacturer cannot void your entire warranty simply because a third party has worked on your vehicle; what matters is whether the work caused a fault. In practice, most L405s are past factory warranty anyway, which makes the guarantee that matters ours: 12 months on workmanship, on every job, with genuine parts and factory procedures throughout.

Is the screen upgrade really worth it on a 2014 build?

The honest answer is a question back: how long are you keeping it? If the Vogue is staying, the PIVI Pro upgrade from $5,750 is not a CarPlay purchase with a screen attached, it is the current flagship’s entire interface in yours, and it changes how the vehicle feels every single day you own it. If you are selling within the year, spend nothing and keep the vehicle honest for the next owner. We will tell you which side of that line your plans put you on.

Can I get the ClearSight mirror for my Vogue?

No, and we would rather you hear it from us than pay someone to discover it. The ClearSight camera mirror was never factory-offered for the L405, so there is no genuine path, and we do not fit aftermarket alternatives. Any workshop quoting one for your Vogue is guessing with your money. What we can genuinely do for rear vision is the 3D surround camera, activated for $580 where the hardware is fitted or quoted as a retrofit on your VIN.

Can my SDV8 get more power?

The honest generation answer: the published $950 D300 to D350 path applies to the 2020 to 2021 Ingenium builds, and the earlier TDV6, SDV6 and SDV8 engines are assessed individually against what factory calibrations exist for them, quoted on your VIN. What we never do, at any price, is fit an aftermarket tune, so if the factory answer for your engine is no, you hear that plainly and pay nothing for the truth.

Can a dealer tell work has been done?

Yes. A dealer with the right equipment can see your configuration differs from your VIN’s delivery specification. What they find is genuine capability enabled to factory behaviour with genuine parts. We say this on every page because you deserve the whole picture.

Will a software update undo activations?

Hardware stays fitted regardless. Occasionally a major update returns coding to delivery configuration, and when that happens we re-apply it. On this platform it is rarer still, since the L405 has lighter over-the-air exposure than the current generation. Rare, known, disclosed now rather than later.

How long does the work take?

The CarPlay activation is done while you wait. The classic bundle of CarPlay, the fridge and ambient lighting fits a single visit, the screen upgrade and larger retrofits run within a day with parts lead times quoted up front, a courtesy car is available by advance reservation, subject to availability, and typical booking lead time is within two weeks.
